5 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK & CONCEPT - LOUSY PEDOMETER!   July 24, 2010
Donna P. (Glen Ridge, NJ)
I am a 60-year old woman who has dieted and exercised most of my adult life. Lately, though I have found it difficult to keep my weight down (aging, I suppose). I bought this book looking for a new direction. It has opened my eyes to what I have been missing. As I said I exercise everyday usually 30-40 minutes, but my job is in front of a computer and I sit most of the day. Like others have said it was shocking to see how little I actually moved besides my exercise time. These small, but very effective changes that I made have totally changed my attitude and my weight! However, the pedometer that comes with the book is terrible (actually, it didn't even work. I had to return it). I highly recommend spending a little more money and purchasing the Omron HJ-112, which you can get from Amazon.com. It is great! I promise you that if you follow this program the way that it is drawn up, you will be amazed like I was. I also agree with many who have reviewed this book...the megasteps were very confusing.

3 out of 5 stars The book is good...the free pedometer, not so much.   July 23, 2010

First off, the free pedometer offer was pretty much what sealed the deal with me buying this book. I thought it sounded like a pretty good offer. I received the book with the pedometer, only to discover the pedometer would not function at all. I assumed it was sent to me with a dead battery, so I found the tiniest screwdriver I could find (even a screwdriver for eyeglasses was a little too big...but it's all I had) and opened the pedometer's case to find that I would basically have to break the bracket over the battery to change it. It appears to be a disposable pedometer, which I thought was kind of dumb. I figured I'd already spent too much time on the cheap little pedometer, so I threw it away with the intent to purchase a better one at another time. Other than that little disappointment, the book is great. I hope it helps me in my pursuit to lose weight and get into better shape.

5 out of 5 stars Great stuff   June 5, 2010

This was a "used" product but was in mint condition when I received it. I like knowing that if I purchase a used book, your standards for resale are very high. I will do it again.

3 out of 5 stars not as easy   February 28, 2009

It isn't as easy as it seems to reach 12000 steps a day
Otherwise interesting and motivating
Their pedometer didn't work for me

Very good plan; especially if you're already a walker. Easy reading and IT WORKS!! I highly recommend for those out there who already walk but are not shedding the pounds they want.
