 No better than my old Remington September 7, 2010

I bought this more than a year ago and my wife has complained endlessly that it does not shave any better than my older worn-out Remington (got about 7 years use out of that one). The cleaning system did not seem to make the shaver work significantly better and after the second refill, I quit using it (additional cleaning cartridges, that is). The cleaning solution would irritate my face, so I would have to clean the shaver after the cleaning solution had been used. The travel kit is good and the accessories are nice, but if I could give this a 3.5 stars I would, but my wife used to rant and rave about how smooth my face was with the prior shaver. I'm going to give Panasonic a chance next since Remington shavers seem to average 3 starts here on Amazon. I do not think I will be selecting Braun again anytime soon as a result of this. The beard trimmer is very strong and borders on abrasive, so I bought a dedicated Panasonic beard trimmer which was far more effective by being gentle, yet sharp (no "pulling" sensation with it).

Very satisfied, excellent shave. Previously used Braun synchromesh, this shaver far superior. Probably a top value as less expensive than updated series 5 and I don't believe the newer model could shave any better than this unit.

Been using for over a month now. Much closer shave than my old Norelco. Cleaning system takes some getting used to but appears to be of value. Battery life is excellent; used on vacation for 10 days and was still going strong. Docking station is a little bulky and has an irritating blue light.

I just got the Pansonic Vortex es-la63-s and it is much better than this piece of crap. This thing is horrible, I shaved with it and it irritates my skin and doesn't give a close shave. I had bad skin for days and weeks and almost gave up the electric razor race.
