5 out of 5 stars Can't live without it   July 9, 2010

I use Aquaphor for dry skin (which my eczema-prone family has plenty of), chapped lips, protecting baby bottoms, and soothing "owies". It's amazing.

1 out of 5 stars Seemed to make our toddlers eczema worse   July 7, 2010

The doctor had suggested either Vaseline or Aquaphor for our toddlers eczema. We went with Aquaphor - after all it cost a lot more. After about 5 tubs of Aquaphor, our childs eczema just kept getting worse. I was not sure if Aquaphor was doing any good or was actually doing harm. An epiphany of sorts came about when we found that night-time itching episodes of the child were much better taken care of when we applied Cetaphil and this really got me poking around.

Later I read on one of the eczema sites that Lanolin (one of the ingredients of Aquaphor) does not go well with eczema. After more research we found "Theraplex Emollient" - which is miles ahead of this garbage.

This product is basically Petroleum jelly, water and lanolin. If you must use Aquaphor, you will do much better to stick with just Petroleum Jelly minus the lanolin.

I write this review to try and inform parents of children with eczema. If Aquaphor works for you, by all means stick with it. But do try plain Vaseline as an alternative and a combination of Cetaphil+Theraplex emollient if other solutions haven't worked. I have reviewed the Theraplex emollient and refer to that review for more information..

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!   June 10, 2010

Saved my dad's life --- he was totally relieved after applying Aquaphor Ointment from an ichy, swallen, chapped face due to pollen allergy. He loves it so much that he asked me to buy him two big jars when he went back to China and this is the only thing that he asked me to buy for him.

5 out of 5 stars Only One that Works   February 28, 2010

This is the only ointment that works for my sons dry red winter rashes under the lips. We have tried many others even prescription ones. But none others work.

5 out of 5 stars Aquaphor works like nothing I have tried.   January 19, 2010

My knuckles dry out and crack badly during the winter. I had some especially painful and bleeding splits on my hand and asked my CVS pharmacist for her recommendation. She pointed me in the direction of Aquaphor. For three nights I applied Aquaphor before going to bed and wore white cotton gloves as I slept. After three days the dried, calloused skin around my wounds had become soft and the split skin was healing! Aquaphor is a little greasy, but I have never found anything that heals my dry skin as quickly and fully as it has. I will keep a tub "on hand" for the rest of my life! You can see a photo of my knuckles after three days of using Aquaphor in the product photo section.
