Found something better for eczema March 13, 2010 See It to Believe It (Illinois) My daughter has battled eczema since 3 months old. We started with Aquaphor, then tried almost every "natural/organic" product under the sun, then found out she had a nut/peanut allergy and had to avoid nut/seed oils in skin products--used prescription steroids to control severe outbreaks, and settled with using prescription Mimyx twice a day with Aquaphor layered on top--this was the most effective, but we were going through a large Aquaphor container from Costco ($12.75) and a tube of Mimyx ($40.00 co-pay) each month. Then... my husband said he heard about this lotion called Renew from Melaleuca--that it is supposed to be very effective on eczema, we ordered for the first time last month, have been applying it twice daily on my daughter's arms/legs and her skin has NEVER in her entire life looked better. And it's much less money--I haven't figured out yet exactly how much we will go through each month, but I'm estimating around a total of $20.00 versus the $52.75 we were spending previously. The catch with Melaleuca is that if you want to receive the member price, you pay a $29.00 one time membership fee then have to buy a monthly quota usually about $60.00 worth of household/beauty products. We are going to order several travel size tubes this next month and pass them on to the several families we know battling eczema and see if it helps--what I would do if you aren't sure about committing to a monthly order is buy a bottle at the non-member price and try it. It's no more cost than a tub of Aquaphor. This will be the first summer that my daughter can go outside without long sleeves and long pants on. It's definitely worth a try.
WONDEFUL!!! February 1, 2010 S. Nobles I tried many many lotions for my babies eczema and severe dry skin. Nothing compaired to this!! His skin was cleared up within a day and his scratching had stopped. He had dry, rough skin on his legs and arms and excema on the back. This took care of it all!Not a sign of what the poor boy went thru. Also helps with diaper rash. I cover his bottom with this and then use powder for the night time diapers. I still use oatmeal in his bath and dont bath but every 3 days. This to helps with the problem. Best stuff on the market as far as I am concerned.
Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment January 9, 2010 Kimberly LOVE this stuff. We use it with every diaper change, just to make sure my daughter doesn't get diaper rash. So far, it's been great. We also put some on her cradle cap, and it worked like magic on her dry scalp.
Excellent!!!!!! January 4, 2010 S. Mickens (Paterson, NJ) I have a 2 year old son and he has been suffering from eczema since birth. He had the eczema patches on his face, and it didn't look good. So a friend of mine told me about this product, and of course I was skeptical like I've pretty much tried a lot of over the counter products, this isn't going to work. I'll have to say within a month of using this product the patches on his face has disappeared and his skin has blended and healed well. He also has eczema on other parts of his body. So for those who struggles to keep it under control, I recommend that you buy Seacrets Dead Sea Minerals Salt & Oil Scrub and then after a bath apply the aquaphor. These 2 products together made a big difference in my son's skin condition for his eczema is completely gone and under control. No more waking up in the middle of the night because he's scratching it. I definitely give this prodcuts 2 thumbs up!!!!!!!!
Best stuff ever!!! January 2, 2010 Lovejoy1117 (VA) I love this product. I have used it for me to prevent dry, chapped lips, but never thought about using it for my baby. 2 weeks after we brought our daughter home, she developed a wicked diaper rash. We used Aveeno diaper rash cream and that seemed to clear it up a bit, but it was back in 3 days. We stopped using wipes and just used a washcloth with water to clear her. Still never cleared up. I saw from some message boards that Aquaphor really worked for a lot of people. We tried that, and it cleared up in 1 day!!!! She is now 14 weeks old and we haven't seen a diaper rash since. It is pricey, so I suggest buying it the large tub or the 3 packs from amazon. The large tub lasted us from October until New Year with probably another week left. It also helped clear up her baby acne and rash on her neck. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!
